LUCEDALE — George County senior standout Bradyn Havard gets the “Baria Law Firm Game Ball of the Week” this week.
Every week throughout the end of the school year, we will honor student/athletes across the “Southern Six” with our “Game Ball of the Week” sponsored by David Baria, Attorney-Mediator.

Havard has turned into the number one starter for the Rebels this season, and has made veteran George County head coach Brandon Davis look really smart about that decision.
So far in the Class 6A South State playoffs, Havard, a right hander, has hurled a pair of gems on the mound and earned two postseason wins. Against Long Beach in the opening round, Havard went six stanzas and and scattered four hits while striking out 13 Bearcat batters in a 6-1 GCHS win.
Then, Saturday night, Havard returned to the hill to toss a one-hit shutout with 14 strikeouts in a 7-0 win over visiting Hancock to open that series.

Havard and his Rebels need one more win this week over the Hawks, either in the Kiln Monday night or back at home in the friendly confines of Claude Passeau Field, to earn a third straight trip to the Class 6A South State finals.
