PEARL —Once again, the all-state picks for all seven prep baseball classifications were announced at the conclusion of the annual state baseball tournaments over the weekend.

These all-state teams are chosen by coaches in the Mississippi Association of Coaches.

Vancleave senior standout Dane McElroy is the only “Southern Six” product selected with the Class 5A First Team All-State status this season.

Sumrall, a member of Region 4-5A along with Vancleave, East Central and Stone, captured the Class 5A state title last week with a sweep over Pontotoc.

Here are the selections for Class 6A:

— Last week, Sumrall’s Tucker Barrett went 2-for-5 at the plate with a home run, a double, two runs scored, and a RBI in the Bobcats 7-4 and 3-0 wins over Pontotoc to capture the crown.

Also, Bobcat pitcher Cooper McCoy tossed a complete game three-hit shutout with seven strikeouts in the Bobcats 3-0 win over Pontotoc to claim the MHSAA Class 5A state championships.

It marked the seventh overall state title for Sumrall, which also took home the title in 2024, 2022, 2015, 2011, 2010, 2009 and 2008. The Bobcats were in their first season in Class 5A after moving up a level from Class 4A.
