PEARL —Once again, the all-state picks for all seven prep baseball classifications were announced at the conclusion of the annual state baseball tournaments over the weekend.

These all-state teams are chosen by coaches in the Mississippi Association of Coaches.

St. Stanislaus senior standout Tate Murphy is the only “Southern Six” product selected for Class 3A First Team All-State status this season.

Presbyterian Christian, a member of Region 8-3A along with St. Stanislaus and St. Patrick, captured the Class 3A state title last week with a sweep Booneville. It was the first season in the MHSAA after moving over from years in the private school association.

Here are the selections for Class 3A:

— Last week, Tyner Flynt, PCS: Pitched six-and-two-thirds innings allowing three hits, two runs, and had nine strikeouts in the Bobcats 8-2 win over Booneville and in two games at the plate went 3-for-6 at the plate with a triple, a double, two RBI’s, and two runs scored in the Bobcats 5-0 and 8-2 wins over Booneville to claim the MHSAA Class 3A state championship.

And, PRCS pitcher Bankston Walters tossed a complete game one-hit shutout with 13 strikeouts in the Bobcats 5-0 win over Booneville as well.
