THIBODAUX, La. — It didn’t take long for former East Central High standout Logan Terry to make an impression at Nicholls State.
Terry enjoyed a solid season in his first campaign with the Colonels, and his successful start was noticed by the opposing coaches as well.
The one-time All-State product fo the Hornets was named to the Southland Conference’s Second Team, that was announced by league officials recently.


Terry shined in SLC action, as he batted .338 in league games. He recorded 27 hits, including five doubles and four home runs. He scored 17 times and registered 12 RBIa in SLC action. Additionally, the Semmes, Alabama native ranked seventh in ops (.986) and 10th in slugging percentage (.575) in the SLC. He posted eight multi-hit games including a three-hit performance against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, when he also drove in two runs and scored three runs.
He also posted a three hit game earlier this month in league play in a win over the University of New Orleans. Additionally, when he returned to his home state to face Mississippi State late in the season, he drove in two runs as well.
Overall, he saw action in 33 games with 28 starts at catcher. He batted .333 overall. Nicholls State finished 25-26 overall this season, but the Colonels were 15-13 in conference play and finished as the fourth seed.

Prior to landing here in South Louisiana, Terry turned into a solid bat for Pearl River Community College and topped the Wildcats in his sophomore season hitting .324 with a .468 on-base percentage and .450 slugging percentage. He tallied 23 doubles, 21 runs and 20 walks, while collecting eight doubles and two homers, including one in the NJCAA Division II World Series. Terry helped lead Pearl River to an MACCC Championship, a Region 23 Title and an NJCAA World Series second place finish and was named Second Team All-MACCC.
In Hurley, he garnered Class 5A First Team All-State honors in both 2022 and 2023 as he helped guide the Hornets to consecutive state titles in those two seasons. He was also named Most Valuable Player in the 2023 state championship series.
