LONG BEACH — Pass Christian opened a new prep football season in fine fashion Friday night.
In the annual “Oyster Bowl” the visiting Pirates sailed into Lumpkin Stadium in Long Beach and dismantled the Bearcats 48-3. It marked the sixth in in the last seven games for PCHS in this long-running series,
Pass Christian standout senior signal-caller Paris Trivillion accounted for 350 yards of total offense and five touchdowns in the easy win. He ran for 209 yards and four scores, including a 73-yard scoring scamper. He also threw for 141 yards and another score.

Versatlie two-way stalwart Brandon Laneaux hauled in a 36-yard touchdown toss from Trivillion. And Cecil Lizana added a 56-yard touchdown run to the winning cause.
Pirate defensive back Alonzo Strickland had a pair of interceptions for PCHS, including one he returned for a touchdown.
Pass Christian linebacker Stefen King led the winning defensive attack, with 12 total tackles.
The loss marked the eighth straight for Long Beach, which has also 18 out of its last 19 games and 20 out of its last 22 contests.

Pass Christian hosts Purvis next week, while LBHS hosts Forrest County AHS.

Pass Christian football team set a program record for most wins in a season last year, and the Pirates are looking to carry that momentum over into the same type of campaign this season.
The Pirates went 11-2 overall, including an impressive 9-1 in the regular season, and Pass ended up in the Class 4A South State semifinals for the second time in three years under head coach Jeff Stockstill.
The Pirates get back nine returning starters on offense and six more on defense, as they look to defend the Region 8-4A title they won last year, which marked the first-ever in program history as well.
