PASCAGOULA — In what may have been the last game of a storied rivalry, Pascagoula easily defeated Moss Point 44-0, recording their fourth consecutive shutout of the Class 4A Tigers and extending their defensive scoreless streak in the rivalry to 17 quarters. 
The Pascagoula defense led by Kevin Marshall, who returned an interception early in the third quarter 34 yards for a pick six, Emauri Anderson, and Jonathan Shelby limited Moss Point to just 89 yards and four first downs on the night, with the second half being played under a running clock.
Three big plays, all in the first half, however, accounted for the Moss Point offense. Quarterback Aiden Evans hit Jordan McInnis on throws of 28 and 20 yards and Amarion Scott ripped off a run of 61 yards.  The completions to McInnis brought the Tigers to the 12 in the first half, but the drive would end in a sack on fourth down. Shelby’s run took the ball to the Pascagoula 26, but the drive would again end on fourth down. 

“Defensively, I thought we go at them pretty good,” said new Pascagoula head coach Zach Green. “We were focused and locked in.”
“We couldn’t match their physicality,” said Moss Point coach Derrick Jenkins. “They are a really physical team.”
With the win, Pascagoula, a Class 6A school, takes their sixth consecutive victory in the historic series and raises their record to 46-37-3. The Pascagoula winning streak is their longest since 1951-56, when the Panthers again won six consecutive games.

There is no contract in place yet to continue the series moving forward.
For Pascagoula, quarterback Jason Glaude led the way passing for 170 yards and two touchdowns 10-of-13 passing. His 61-yard strike to Braylyn Belcher in the second quarter broke the game open and gave Pascagoula a 21-0 lead.

He finished the game with an 8-yard pass to Kaiden Martin to get Pascagoula above the 40-point mark for the third consecutive year. Glaude also led the Panthers in rushing 55 yards on nine carries and a 5 yard scamper, diving into the endzone, to end Pascagoula’s last play of the first half.

Sean Norvell added two first-quarter touchdowns on runs of 7 and 2 yards to open the scoring. Kicker Miles Sprague connected on a 36-yard field \goal in the third quarter and all five of his extra points as Pascagoula did not attempt a PAT after their last score as time ran out.
“It was an excellent game,” said Green. “We didn’t turn the ball over and I thought our offensive line finished their blocks well.

Up now for Pascagoula (1-0) is a run of Class 7A Coast powers Biloxi, Ocean Springs, D’Iberville, and Gulfport with the Indians and and Warriors coming to Pascagoula. 
“It’s going to be a challenge,” Green said. “I’m looking forward to playing these games.
For Moss Point (0-1), they will travel to Jackson Lanier and St. Stanislaus before entertaining Gautier in week four for their home opener.  
“We’re young,” Jenkins said. “We’re getting there. I think in a couple of weeks you’ll see a lot of improvement from what you saw tonight.”
