We’ll take a look at some “By the Numbers” this week before we get to the weekly poll:

St. Stanislaus hosts Bay High Friday night in Brother Phillip Memorial Stadium in the 58th all time edition of the annual “Battle for the Crab Trap”. Both the Rocks and Tigers are coming off of losses in their respective season-openers last week, and this meeting comes at a time when both teams are in dire need of some wins.

This is the longest-running rivarly ever for SSC, and Bay High has only met Pass Christian more times (72). And this latest match-up comes with the Tigers on a 14 game losing streak, as well as having lost 19 of their last 20 games dating back to early in the 2024 season.

Meanwhile, the Rock-A-Chaws and having lost 14 out of their last 16 contests. And, one of those two wins was over Bay High last year when the Tigers went 0-9 and the other was against St. Patrick in 2024 when the Fighting Irish went 0-9 that season.

Last year SSC claimed a close 20-24 decision in the Bay. The two teams have combined for just one win and 27 losses over their past 14 games respectively, And that lone win was the SSC win over the Tigers last year.
