The Rock defense stopped the Tigers and forced a punt. Bernard stayed in the air with a 52-yard toss to Liam Hayes. Bernard ended the drive with a 1-yard scoring run with 4:02 left in the first half leaving the score at 16-0.

On the ensuing drive, Evans found Terrance Coleman for a 36-yard gain before Hayes intercepted a Tiger pass at the Rock 25-yard line.

Bernard found Oliver for gains of 20 and 19 yards and another 19-yard gain by Wood. Three plays later, Bernard scored from one-yard out with seven seconds left. Babin’s PAT made the halftime score 23-0.

The teams traded possessions to start the second half before Moss Point’s Maroreo Kelly picked up a loose ball and returned it 10 yards for a touchdown with 6:49 left in the third quarter to get the Tigers on the board at 23-6.

The Rocks needed just six plays to find the endzone on the ensuing drive. Bernard finished the drive with a one-yard scoring plunge with 3:24 left in the third quarter to extend the home team advantage to 30-6.

On the ensuing kickoff, Jaxon Dubose took the ball at the one-yard line and returned it 99 yards for a touchdown with 3:09 left in the third quarter to make it 30-12.

Bernard went back to the air and connected with Oliver for 15 and 14 yards before Babin converted a 20-yard field goal with 10:22 left in the game to make the final score 33-12.

Moss Point head coach Derrick Jenkins commented, “On offense, we have had trouble finishing drives. If we can find consistency in execution and finish drives, we will be able to string some things together. On defense, our pass defense has not been up to the level it needs to be which did us in tonight. We have to turn our focus to Gautier this week and get ready for an athletic team. If we can correct some things that have been troubling us, we could have a good game next week.”

Moss Point was led by Evans who threw for 112 yards in the game.

Saint Stanislaus head coach Evan Gay stated, “In the second half, we got a little one dimensional due to their aggressive defense and it limited what we could do. Credit to Moss Point for continuing to play hard through the game. Max Bernard took some shots from their defense but stayed in there and continued to throw the ball well. Adam Oliver, Lex Rhodes, and Liam Hayes made some big catches for us tonight. Jackson Wood came down with a big first catch early in the game. Now, we have to get ready for Pass Christian which is on a great run right now. We have to work on getting a run game going. Our defense kept Moss Point out of the endzone tonight which was great to see that effort. Pass Christian will be a heavyweight opponent and we have to be ready to respond.”

Bernard threw for 295 yards and a touchdown on 21-for-38 passing while also adding three rushing touchdowns. Oliver caught nine passes for 139 yards.

The Rocks (2-1) travel to Pass Christian next week and Moss Point (0-3) will host Gautier. Kickoff for both games is set for 7 p.m.
