GULFPORT — West Harrison senior standout running back Austin Mcinnis is the “Southern Six Senior Spotlight” sponsored by Burnham Drugs this week.

Each week of the school year, we here at SouthMiss6 Sports along with Burnham Drugs will highlight a deserving student/athlete in the “Southern Six”.

McInnis ran for 170 yards on 14 carries and scored four touchdowns last week as his Hurricanes blew past home-standing Laurel “Between the Bricks” in Watkins Stadium.

McInnis was a major reason why West Harrison racked up 466 yards of total offense, including 373 yards on the ground, as the Hurricanes scored nine touchdowns to even their record up at 2-2 as they closed out the non-conference portion of their schedule.

In addition, West Harrison set a new program record for most points scored in a game in the win over the Golden Tornadoes. The Hurricanes open Region 4-7A play hosting St. Martin Friday night.
