Rock running back Jaxen Halferty produced a big effort on the ground for SSC in the key win, as he carried the ball 32 times for 207 yards and two touchdowns. His 1-yard scoring plunge with 11:15 left in the first half put Prior to that, Rocks place-kicker Jude Babin booted a pair of first quarter field goals to put SSC up 13-0.
SSC quarterback Max Bernard threw for 181 yards and a touchdown on 13-for-25 passing.
He directed the Rocks on a 91-yard scoring march in nine plays for the clinching score.
The drive was keyed by a 22-yard reception by Adam Oliver, a 12-yard pass-catch combo from Bernard to Cayden Alexander, and gains of 26, 7, and 3 yards from Halferty. The drive culminated with a seven-yard scoring toss from Bernard to Lex Rhodes with 6:11 left in the first half. Babin’s PAT made the score 20-0, and that was it basically.

Halferty added a short scoring run with 11:22 left in the game to complete the scoring.
Saint Stanislaus Rock-A-Chaws head coach Evan Gay commented, “Our running game has been a focus for us the past few weeks. We were able to establish that facet of our game early and it helped set the tone. Jaxen Halferty ran the ball very well. That helped our offense move the football and helped negate some of the wind that was another factor to deal with during the game. Our defense played lights out.’
SSC travels to Presbyterian Christian Friday night and St. Patrick hosts Tylertown. The Fighting Irish need a win to keep its state playoff hopes alive in their regular season finale.
